PARTNERSHIP INITIATIVES
ITBC engages in key partnership initiatives with federal agencies, Tribal nations, and conservation organizations to restore buffalo populations. These collaborations are crucial for sharing resources, expertise, and support, helping to strengthen cultural traditions and promote sustainable land management across Tribal lands.

Bison Conservation Program
Sixty-three animals were transferred in 2012 and 138 in 2014. Today the Fort Peck Tribes conserve 300-400 bison across more than 18,000 acres on their lands.

Advancing Markets For Tribal Buffalo
Advancing Markets for Tribal Buffalo (A.M.P) is a USDA-funded, $5 million, three-year initiative supporting the InterTribal Buffalo Council to expand tribally managed buffalo meat markets across 86 Tribal nations.
